Stachys officinalis And Pedicularis canadensis

Are both called Wood Betony and are very much different plants, can you narrow it down for us a bit?

As a comment to posting on herb usage, inclusion of the botanical name along with the common name does avoid the confusion that comes with using the common names. Too many common names are misleading or are used for multiple different plants. If you are referencing a source, they should have included the botanical name in their information and so it should be easy to include in the post.

If you were citing from Peterson Field Guides - Eastern/Central Medicinal Plants and Herbs by Foster & Duke as you were for other posts, I can only assume it is Pedicularis canadensis since Stachys officinalis is not covered at all in that book. If you were citing from another source, you will have to refer to that one for the specific botanical name that corresponds to the information you posted.
