WHOOOHOOO!!BLINK> My kind of place!! I love cliffs, I love rocks, and the water, wow, you captured that "feeling" ----almost surreal. You may need to go back to photography, uh, JB. I'm not kidding! Thanks for the image. I may have to move there! Bet I could sell the farm and buy, oh, maybe one square foot of that beach!! BB

That's incredibly nice. You must have used a very slow speed for that one. Beach looks alot like Rocky Point on LI.

BB, I just got all my old nature photography pics from CA but I forgot I'd saved them on a Zip disk! Ugh.

    More to come... someday.

BB, I like the way this pic came out:

It reminds me quite a bit of the {{gwi:65334}}. Interesting similarity in the roots though the plants, location and season couldn't be more different.

That looks like it could be in black and white, but for the golden rock. Why is that rock so golden??

BB, I took this pic just before sunset so the exposure (ISO 400, 24mm lens, f22) was 30 seconds. That caused the ethereal coloring and made the running water look like clouds. To color the rock I tried a trick I'd read about years before but never tried. I "painted" the rock with a flashlight beam while the shutter was open.

Ya know, as good as digital is, there are some things I miss about my 35mm camera. Like timed exposures and night shots. It just can't focus in bad lighting, and also, you cannot take action sports shots inside a gym. Wasted the whole memory card on hundreds of shots one night, my neice was playing basketball, all bad not a good one in the bunch. I imagine if one has unlimited funds, one could purchase a very good digital that would act like a SLR 35mm with all the whistles and bells, but alas, I am not there yet. I may have to go into the attic and relook at my old photos. May find something I could frame and put up on the wall. Keep inspiring me!! BB

BB, I'll try to inspire but I feel almost like I'm starting anew.

I just wasted a couple of rolls of film trying to take pics of the ice and snow blowing on the lake. It wasn't until I had the film developed that I realized that part of what I wanted to capture in the photos - the cracks in the ice, the granules of snow, the frost formations, the sensuous curves of the snow banks - was too subtle for the conditions. The fierce wind blew snow into the air and resulted in, basically, blank white pics. Bah humphbug.

Humphbug? Do you mean humbug??? I guess you will have to send a wave file, just like sheeesh ameeemie crackers. Ya'll talk funny.

BB, I haven't had my peakpoet licence revoked yet so humphbug it is.

GC, I'm using a Canon Eos Elan.

My next photo assignment is taking shots of my sister and her family and pets. I think I'll start a Pet Pic post to compliment Kin's Projects and pets. Not my pets but they've sort of adopted me so what the hay. Eh?

I taught I taw a Tufaneer's Pet Page, dontya read nuttin? We lost everybody. Don't they have anything they wanna talk about except Tufa? GC, let me know how the bagged potting soil works on your legs! BB

Tufaneers' Pet Page? Sounds familiar. Proly where I got the idear.

Just got back from a trek to Crab Island and I'm downloading from my digicam while my face thaws. Weird how your cheeks (ahem, in my face, Jo) glow afterwards.

BB, I'm sending you a little .avi I made of a panoramic vista around the lake. Didn't realize before my digicam captured sound, too. Pretty neat.

So Tex, you're shootin' with a digicam now? What happened to the Elan?

GC, I brought both. It'll probably be a while before I develop the roll of film I shot with the 35mm and I'm too impatient to wait.

Also, the Elan doesn't have the ability to to create movie files. Anyone know of a free hosting site that'll allow hypterlinking to .avi's?

Yep. Sound. My daughter had the sound blasting and I opened that avi file at midnight and nearly fell to the floor. The wind in your first one was awsome! This one is a little more quiet. I will get even. I'll have my great dane bark at you! Be very afraid! I don't know of any free site to upload avi files. I know on the Ponds and Aquatic Plants, Mucky_Waters links to video clips all the time with his turtles. You could ask him. I asked him once. He doesn't use avi. but a digital movie camera. I didn't persue the project. His video clips are very popular over there. You could turn into our digi-clip source here. Do some HOW TO TUFA series!! That lake looks like it would be a great place to put out my boat and fish. I didn't go but 3 times this summer. In the Chesapeake Bay and tributaries. Only caught one Striped Bass. Oh well, I hear that the fish have too much idodine in them, anyway. Keep the images coming! BB
