Mable have you ever tried dusting a leaf with green pigment before embedding them.
I have not tried surface dusting with pigment yet although I'm told you can get some cool effects.

I have not yet, it is on my list of experiments to try, should it ever stop raining here in Maine. We had 200% of normal rainfall in April, and May is looking the same, last week we had over 6 inches of rain, with cool temps to match. Rain is good for tufa, but not the cold weather....

I also want to try whitewashing pieces with lime....

Did you press the leaf into the top, or was it on the bottom of the mold?

I'm wondering if you carefully sprinkled the leaf with concrete pigments, a like green, a little yellow, maybe some chocolate in the grooves then carefully pour on the concrete if you would get an interesting result.
If anyone has tried this let me know.
So far I have not used molds.

I pressed the leaf into the surface of the stepping stone. It was cast in a plastic food service lid. I'd like to try the pigments, but over time this has grown mossy and taken on a green cast without the pigments.
