Tufa makes great metates

I love hypertufa because it makes great primitive projects, and there's nothing more primitive than the look of metates. If you don't know what metates are they are old grinding stones and bowls used throughout Mexico and the southwest. I like the primitive look and they look great in your yard and even in your home. For the "mano", or grinding tool, you can use an interesting stone.

What fun and I agree with the great look!!! You just might inspire me to get out there again ......and play in the mud. It was such fun when I did it ...... all the time!!!!!
