hm-mm! very interesting! I bet this moss would look great on small solid spheres if this really works? one would only have to keep the item in a shady damp area to keep the moss growing. Think I'll give it a try out this summer-don't know why it wouldn't work on Hypertufa also.

Wendy, I just dig up a piece of moss,remove some of the soil, get the soil on the back nice and muddy and push it into place on the piece, place in the shade and keep moist. The thin layer of soil keeps it attached and in place until the moss attachs on it's own. Billie

I read somewhere years ago that if you want to get moss to grow on your concrete walks or steps etc, to spray it with buttermilk. Moss likes acid and of course concrete is basic. I guess the buttermilk neutralizes the base somehow.
