Masonry Cement

Has anyone tried using masonry cement? I am building a monolithic bat house which looks like a cave. The armature is

metal lathe (mesh) over welded rebar. The small amount of flexibility in masonry mortar may help with movement that may occur as it sits 15' in the air. I just don't want to have covered the entire thing with something not strong enough.

Recipie: 1:1:1:1 masonry cement, perlite, masonry sand, fine peat.
