Hypertufa fountains are awesome. I've made quite a few using a hypertufa tufa bowl for the basin with a topper of a casted leaf, a hypertufa orb and even stacked hypertufa bricks. You can use a hypertufa pedestal or iron plant stands. I waterproof by first painting the inside surface with Thompson's water sealer. I then slather on hydraulic cement. I've had many of these fountains for years and they hold up well.
