LOVE it! It looks great 'in the raw' but painted it is OUTSTANDING! Fantastic job! You are a master with colour! Is it about 3ft. long overall? I'm trying to get a sense of scale. I always picture these things in my mind, but never see them come to 'fruition'(lol). I would be thrilled to have that in my garden. Oh! Just had a flash... what if one of the peas was painted like the earth, just to complete the 'World Peas' thing??? I bow to you, Dena! :)

I too thought of the world on each Pea. Who knows I may still do that.
I will try to get a pic of someone holding the peas and post that in my webshots.
Several years ago I saw a bumper sticker that had a blender full of peas, and a picture of earth at the side, it said Whirled Peas.......................

There's just something adorable about peas in a pod--this is a very compelling sculpture and the way you painted it gave it depth and realism. If it was sitting in my veggie bed, I'd smile every time I walked by...no matter how many weeds I had.

Thank you for the great fun ideas. This forum is an awesome place to share inspiration.
I added color to the carrots a couple days ago, will seal them this week and hope to have them set in the garden.
I have a little larger cabbage that I just need to adhere all the leaves together and stain. Several years ago I saw a very tall asparagus (gui) (well anyway just one) it stood probably 6ft tall.
Other veggie ideas would be welcomed. There is a person who I think has stopped by here a couple times who has created some wonderful fruits, VERY large. Here phots show what appears to be acreage, one Pear or Banana would take up an entire garden area for me.

I thnk some celery might look pretty cool, or a corn on the cob,with the husk partly peeled back.
I've seen those giant fruit also, they were huge.

I made one pea pod. After having had it out in the garden, with rain, if I make another of the pea pods I will make sure it has a hole placed inconspicuously under one of the peas.
I have three carrots just waiting for me to get enough time to put them all together. I did add color to the carrot part this last weekend. The tops have color and both the carrots and leaves have been sitting since the end of last summer just waiting patiently.
The eggplant that was mentioned is another GREAT tomato cage project! Oh and of course! a tomatoe too. Corn on the cob would also be fun. Any additional veggies will have to wait for about a month, so I can concentrate on a couple other things going on. I might have to think about either their very own bed or a large wheelbarrow to haul them around for different placement in the yard .......

Dena, Please consider the asparagus. For several years there was one in our neighborhood. It was so wonderful that I would go out of my way just to see it and smile. They also had a very large world globe that I loved but it was more difficult to see. Then one day the art was moved to an out of the way corner of the yard, and it was obvious the house was about to be torn down. In its place they built a million dollar brick box, replacing the wonderful art with tasteful granite columns.
When I saw your pea pod I had to smile. Did you see the 6ft asparagus in Washington? Do you have any idea who the artist is?

The asparagus was at a concrete art show that is presented each year at City People's garden mercantile in Seattle Wa. on Madison St. (I was unable to come up with the web page)
I think this was about 6 years ago.
Asparagus columns would be oh so friendly and yummy!

My favorite take on the phrase is "whirled peas," and I envision the pod mounted on a free-spinning rod so it can twirl around in the breeze, making them truly "whirled" peas... ;D
