Tufa Workshop

I held my first tufa workshop this past Monday & Tuesday. Eleven women attended. The group met for two hours on Monday to learn about hypertufa, precautionary info, and then we got busy making pots. Tuesday we met for 1 1/2 hours to clean up the first pot, make a second pot, and then time for questions. The pots everyone made in class turned out well. Yeah! I referred the class participants to this discussion group for more info and to check out all the great stuff people on this forum make.

I brought only three sample items of things I made for the class to check out because I was plume tired from loading & unloading about 500 pounds of materials. So, the lesson I learned in all of this is that the next class I teach will be at my own house. No more loading and unloading of stuff. The nice part was that everyone in the class did pitch in and help me clean up.

One of the items I brought was a leaf casting and everyone had questions about how it was made and now there's planning going on in my head for a leaf casting class.

One item that some of the ladies discussed is getting together for hypertufa play dates at my house since I had all the materials and they would pay me for the materials they use. They wanted to continue to make pots but didn't have the storage space nor did they want to get stuck with a lot of left over stuff. I have to figure out a way to measure & charge for the stuff they will use. If anyone has any clues on this, please let me know.

Cheers and happy tufa'ing
