For those that don't know, that's a lasagna garden. You lay the newspaper on top of the grass and cover the newspaper with layers of the rest of the ingredients and next year you have beautiful garden soil.
Wasabiwoman, That's going to be a lot of hypertufa. Why not use cinder block and cover it with a layer of hypertufa? Billie

Thanks Billie, that's a good cost saving tip that I never thought of. I wanted to have a round bed or some kind of non angular shape. I guess I could square off the cinder blocks and round out the edges with hypertufa, right? Have also heard about using yogurt or buttermilk and moss mixed in the blender and applied to concrete or hypertufa for that nice aged look but I understand that the item in question should be in the shade. Any thoughts on this?
