Yesterday I finished my solar hyper tufa house (solar panel will be in the round circle). I put the mixture on in two stages since I was having issuies with it sticking to both the front and the back. It took no time for it to set up and harden, I was able to carve into the roof.

I have been treating this and another that I did like babies, watering and covering. It's really hot here though, likely 100+ today. Is it too hot to keep them in bags, even in the shade?

This is for gammagirl. Sounds like you had a fun party. After trying many release agents, I found that a silicone spray works best if you don't want the creases from plastic liner. You can get it from the automotive section of a box store. I never use a metal or glass mold without a triple liner: vaseline, then plastic liner, then silicone spray. Concrete will bond to metal, so if there are any little tears or holes, you will have concrete meatloaf for dinner. Also, the trick to getting the internal spacers out, is to take it out after an hour or two of setting. The mix will be firm enough to hold its shape, but soft enough to release the form.

So...one at a time. Here are all the pots! The one with the bowling ball and the bottle are my 2 favs. They are the ones in the next pic I'm going to post. I tried coloring them with tie dye...hm. Might need to try more concentrated and closer to unmolding.

The folks at the concrete supply store just stare at me when I ask them for concrete colorant, and I want pretty blues and greens. Not browns and blacks. Puke. ;)
