Texas weather,Texas problems!!!!!

Afternoon!

Well,I tried a solution for curing, and, boy, did it backfire-but,my bad for it!

It was previously noted about steam curing in a SEALED black plastic bag.Well, after 3 layers on a large(30 inch)ball,I made a black tent that I wrapped around the ball, added water, closed off(not sealed)the bag and let our unusually high temps take care of the rest.I think I'll stick to my old method-indoors,covered loosely and mist 3 time a day for 3 days.Because-I was working with my ball today and noticed that there was some flaking occurring on the underside. When I started picking away at it,it kept coming off.Not all of the 3rd coat, but great bits of it.Never had that happen before. Now,I have to re-do the outside;I'll try a little darker colour, get a two-tone finish.

I prefer the cooler temps to work in,and I'd guess the concrete does too, unless I can TOTALLY seal the piece inside the bag.

I should note that I used admix like a coat of paint between applications, and I applied concrete on consecutive days.Again, worked on others, changed my technique on this one.Won't do that again!!

Cheers from here
