Been playing around with cement and silica sand(250 mesh from a pottery store).Found that it came out VERY smooth.And,for a lark,I played with it after approximately 3 hours of pouring it(used admix as the liquid,dash of water).Found it to be still pliable,very much like clay.And,like clay,it would hold a shape with virtually no slump afterwards;I pulled it upright to a point.It has now dried,no cracks,nice clean look. it does show fingermakrs,tho.It seems to show very fine detail.Used a 1:1.5 mix.Just passing this along for those of you in detail work.
