Vicki, Some of the information at the link below may help. You can use found objects to display/hold the leaves. Depending on the look, go for rustic with an old galvanized bucket turned upside down or take a new one and antique it. Cut out the bottom if you need the room. Rebar can be bent, welded and painted. PVC pipe is another source for stands. Do a search on this forum and the Internet. Billie

I like my bases to be attractive but not take any attention away from the leaf itself by their size or dimension. I sometimes find stands meant for other things (wrought iron) at Big Lots and am always on the lookout at yard sales and thrift stores for stands that once held gazing balls. I think I like wrought iron or metal stands best because they are decorative in their own right and have the strength to bear up under a heavy 20 pound leaf.

If you have a "Steins Garden center" in your area, they sell a stand which is meant to display BOWLS. They are made of wrought iron and are perfect for leaves. They easily display my 22x22 (40lb) Gunnera leaf.

Recently I made a leaf stand out of hypertufa, stones, and an old ice cream bucket.
I covered the bucket with plastic truned upside down, and covered it with hypertufa, pushed stones in, leaving the top open, So when I unmolded it, it was just a circle of stones. I then wire brushed it to expose the texture.
