Leaf molding,redux

So,I went to work on molding a broadleaf maple(they're all over the place here on the coast).First,I appllied a fairly thick (not runny, more like thick toothpaste)mix of 1:1,using silica sand at about 200 mesh.I made the coverage about 1/4-1/2 inch thick.Used 100%admix for the liquid. The result is a nice hard thin leaf.Trimmed any excess(I'm not that good at preventing spillovers!)and filled any little holes with clay.I then made a thin bed of clay, pushed the concrete leaf into it,and trimmed the excess clay so that I had a leaf/clay combo about 1/2 inch thick overall.

I then used Nobu's silicone-from-a-tube method and let it set for a few hours. The result?A nicely detailed, flexible mold, that I can pour as thin as I like!

Now,to do the rest of the leaves!

cheers from here!
