Painting leaves question

I have completed some leaves and painted them different ways. Some with spray paint, Some with acrylics and powdered pigments. They are pretty but the ones I have seen at the garden centers have a really thick shiny type paint, kind of like fired pots, but you can still see the veining in the leaves. How do you get this look? Or is it a sealer that makes it look this way? I have used the spray acrylic clear gloss but it doesn't look like the ones at the store. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
