Great job! Are the white pieces perlite and the brown, pieces of chunky peat moss? If so will you wash them out to get a pockmarked look? Where is the carving?

I set the mixture in the evening. The next morning I took them out of the molds, molds being cups and bowls from the dollar store. I then carved them with a utility knife to get rid of the flat bottom bowl shape. I carved the stems as well to give them some curves.
Yes it is perlite and peat. I washed them a bit so they have a few pocks.

If you used bowls for the tops then what for the stems? Sorry I am a real newbie.

The stems are cups. I spray the bowls and cups with cooking spray. I fill each with 'tufa. Then I put the cup(stem) into the bowl filled with 'tufa to make the indent for the stem to sit in.
