Does Hypertufa stick to itself?

I made a half-circle hypertufa over wire mesh arch. I hope someone can envision that in their head. I got a form for an interior home arch that looks like a CAPITAL letter D only on it's side with the arch on top and the straight line on bottom. I used staple nails to attach mesh over the D form, and applied Hypertufa. WELL, I missed some places, not alot. Anyhoo, I am keeping it moist and covered. Can I apply some more Hypertufa to the surface? I am tempted to make a cement slurry to go over the bits of exposed wirey stuff, but don't know if the Hypertufa should be cured before I try the slurry to smooth things out. I also made a raised "face" from a cheap Halloween mask and put in marble "eyes".
