Joyce, it is kinda hard to tell with out a photo.
It is possible it is a type of resin or plastic, with a fake finish to resemble rock. The colors indicate it is a good possibility it is a synthetic product.
Is there a name on the pot anywhere ?
Hypertufa is hand made using portland cement, and the end product has a gray finish.

OK... I am gonna try it. Not sure if it will work or not.
And... its not working.... will keep trying. If it does decide to load ... it is under "garden junk" hypertufa or not and planting pot.....??????

I have that same face in hand pot, someone gave it to me as a gift. It's not resin, it's some sort of something ;) I remember tapping on it and it sounding like a clay concoction of some sort. I'll try and find it today, it's in my garden but it's in the middle and lost among several large sego's and ferns.
