Tufa surface finish

Don't know if this has been covered on this site but I have had good results using Patio Paint, watered down, on cured hypertufa planter bowls then sealed with Superdeck brand Masonry Wet Look Sealer. Gives a natural look, has had no adverse effect on plantings (over a year)- out in all kinds of weather. Donated one planted with "hen and chickens"to a Katrina benefit and they put a $30. price tag on it! :)

I don't paint at all but I do use sealers.
What base does your Superdeck wet sealer use.
I've been disapointed in water base products and have returned to the toxic Xylene based sealers.

Superdeck masonry sealer is 100% acrylic -(water clean-up)I have also used it to seal my concrete bird bath to winter protect and have seen no dead birds! I use the Patio Paint greatly diluted just to give a tint, giving the effect of other natural "rock" looks such as a shade similar to Sedona orangy red rocks - takes the "cement" look out tho I like that too. Not many other colors would be suitable. I mostly do shallow bowls to plant sedums and sempervirums - they look great and you can propagate them endlessly from starts off the "mother" plant!
