Cutting back my Corn Plant...

Hi Kids,

One of my Corn Plants needs to be cut back. I'll be making the cut right where this 'new growth' comes out of the 'Mother' stalk. This cutting will end up being a new plant about 3 feet tall. My question is about the bottom leaves. I assume I need to strip the leaves from the bottom before I put the cut end into water to root or, directly into a pot of soil...haven't decided which method I will use yet..any suggestions (?). What is the best way to strip the leaves? Do I cut them as close to the stalk as I can? Do I need to remove 100% of the leaf? Can I just cut them off? How far up the stalk should I remove them? When I have cut back my corn plants in the past I have always had ample bare stalk to work with.

These plants keep growing and growing. This one hit the ceiling long ago. I cut them back and they just keep going. I have a forest of them in my house. I'm running out of room!

Thanks for any advice.
