Sick Philodenron

I bought 2 Philodendron 'Congo' a week ago, and one is looking very sick. The leaves, which were broad and quite flat when I bought it have started to curl in towards the central stem and their edges, which were reasonably straight, have become wavy. The leaves haven't really dropped and are are still green (no brown or yellow).

PLus, the whole plant is also covered in droplets of water. At first I thought it was condensation but it's extreme and my house it's that humid. It looks like the plant is sweating (actually, it looks like the plant has swine flu).

The second plant isn't as bad but looks like it's developing the same problems.

I'm keeping them inside, in a room that has average to low light levels (they are next to a golden cane palm that is doing fine, after about 5 months). They were very dry when I got them so I gave them a good soaking. I gave them another good soaking a week later (again, they were dry, though now I'm worried I overwatered them). Outside it's tops of about 17C, and while not humid, certainly not dry. I don't have any central heating, and haven't got the heater out yet. THey are in the plastic pots, and soil, they were in when I bought them- I asked the guy in the garden centre if they needed to be repotted and he said they'd be fine for about 6 months.

That's all the relevant info I can think of.

Poor plants. I hate to think I've managed to abuse them within only a week. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
