In the big ice storm I lost two huge trees and both fell right on top of my sour cherry trees. They were severely damaged but came back after some radical pruning of the damaged limbs.

Now one of them is putting out suckers from the roots, some as far away as 15 feet from the main tree.

My question, are these suckers good for anything or should I just mow them back? Should I let a couple grow to replace the damaged tree from which they are growing?
