Messages from beyond...

Do any of you believe in getting messages for comfort from loved ones who have recently passed?

I, and several members of my family, are very psychic and get great comfort from messages that come "out of nowhere".

I got a message tonight from Whisper, the kitty I had to have put down this past Tuesday! (I had an email pop up from eBay that told me I won...the heated cat bed that I "won" on eBay for him a month ago. I was prepared to tell the person I supposedly "won" it from that it was a mistake...that I had already purchased one...when everything disappeared!!!! There is now...no record of this email in my email file...or my eBay file!) In the past, I have had messages from my father and my brother after they passed. (My father played funny tricks on me, and my brother came to me through the kitty, Whisper, who just died.) My grandmother, the woman who raised me, was extremely psychic and told me about things that happened to her. (She knew when people were going to die...by the dark aura she saw around them.) Now...these things are happening to me...and even my grandkids. It's very nice...and comforting..at times.,,except for the time I saw the aura that told me my 34 yr. old brother in-law was going to die. There has been some good...some bad.

Do any of you believe in this or have any experience with it?

Oh...boy...now I'll get kicked off of this forum!!!!

I sure hope not...I'm really not a whacko...I'm just psychic!

I had just read your last reply to the "sad day" post, where you said it was lonely without Whisper, he was always right there with you- and the first thing that came into my mind was - he still is, don't you see him?. Then when I came back to the forum page I see your post "messages from beyond". So I know you do :)

I don't know if things like that happen to me or not. I mean things happen, sometimes I think they are signs, sometimes I think they're not signs, but coincidences. I don't know.

I have twice heard a voice though (more heard it in my head than through my ears, you know, but it wasn't my voice). And that was different- it took me by surprise both times. One time, about 20 yrs ago, when I was feeling really down for a long time one day I was in the backyard hanging out clothes and I felt a hand on my shoulder and heard someone say "Stand up straight, girl". The other time my son was a teenager and had just dome something I really didn't like (you know when they do something you never imagined in a hundred years they would do? He was good at that- still is now that I think about it- in good ways too though- but a voice said "This will come back to you a hundredfold!" What!! I don't even talk like that!

So I can't explain that, but other than that, not much in the way of psychic things happens to me, I don't think.

Let me tell you what has happened to me.

My dad died, several years ago, I was totally devastated, as my biological mother had died when I was very young, and my dad was my hero!! Dad died on Oct. 3rd... on DH's oldest son's birthday. (Remember this!)

For Christmas, I made a wooden box to give my brother, my only sibling, to keep his watch and other jewelry in. I planned to paint his monogram on it. I sketched his monogram into the top of the box with pencil before painting it. I worked really hard at it, because I wanted it to be perfect! When I held the box lid up to show DH...to see if he thought it was good enough and spaced right to paint permanently...he had an odd look on his face...and said he thought it was great...but that the initials were not my brother's...they were my dad's!!!! We both knew my dad had made it happen as a joke...and to let me know he was there, because I was having such a difficult time with his death.

A couple of weeks before that, I had been watching TV and eating from a bag of stick pretzels. I pulled a collection of pretzel sticks from the bag...that were in the perfect shape of an H. My father's name was Henry. Two sticks with another horizontal stick to a single stick. A perfect capital H. I calmly held it up for DH to see and said, "Dad's here!" DH never questioned it...knowing how psychic my family is...and calmly just replied, "Yup!"

My brother died very unexpectedly a few years later...on DH's youngest son's birthday!

There are many "like" dates in our family...for instance...my oldest daughter's son being born on her birthday...and DH's grandson being born on my middle daughter's birthday! It's pretty weird!

Never a dull moment in our family! My friends have been after me for years to write a book! chuckle

Your father's antics reminded me of my boyfriend's cousin. He died when he was only in his 40s in a car accident. He was always a jokester from what I have heard. Every time we go out to eat, my boyfriend gets a mangled fork - you know where the tines are all crooked? He always blames it on his dead cousin.

I have had weird premonitions myself. I'm not sure if I would say they were messages from beyond. I was in a car accident once that I had dreamed about 3 years before in very clear detail. Talk about deja vu!

Another time I was working in a store and a guy came up to the register asking for change for a dollar. People did this all the time because we had a pay phone and some vending machines near the registers. I had a bad feeling about this guy. I can't explain what it was. He didn't seem aggitated or nervous. I talked myself into opening my cash drawer to get his change, thinking he wouldn't have the nerve to steal anything with all the people around. So I open the drawer only far enough so the change compartments show. He reached over, pushed me back and stole all the 20s out of the drawer! Since then, I have ALWAYS learned to trust my instincts.

luna_llena_feliz, I once heard it said that humans are the only animals that don't follow their instincts. And that women are the worst, because we tend to not want to offend or embarrass someone. Thank heaven $20s was all he got, and that no one was hurt, especially you!

I have found that there are those who can sense those who are beyond this life and those who can't. If you can and you talk about it, those who can't usually think you're crazy or just looking for attention. As one who grew up in a family who sees and talks to dead folks I usually keep quiet. I believe that our loving Heavenly Father (God, or what ever you call him/her) has given this comfort to those who need, cherish and respect it. Each has talents/gifts that He has given us.

I'm glad to know that you're finding comfort Sandy. Whisper was a special friend. I'm sure he wants to reassure you that he's happy.

I believe that God will speak comfort to anyone who asks in faith. Not always in such an overt way but with a "still small voice" that speaks peace to our hearts.

I have had many experiences too. It is a little weird at times and my DH just says O.K. whenever I tell him something has happened. He has gotten use to my "visits"

Whisper was in my kitchen, his favorite hangout, the other day. I tripped over him...just like old times!

He knows I'm okay now and hasn't been back. I sure do miss him.

I had a cat that died several years ago. For a couple of years, he slept up against my leg at night...just like he did before he died. I sure have loyal kitties, don't I!

I used to know when bad things were going to happen, and I hated it. I've had several operations, and they say anesthetics dull your psychic abilities. Evidently it's true, because I no longer get the really strong feelings I used to about things that are about to happen. I'm really glad about that. It was not good knowing some of the things I knew. The worst was knowing my brother in-law was going to die and not being able to tell anyone. I haven't told his family to this day, and that was years ago. I never will.

knowing someone was going to die would be the worst. I wouldn't want to know that. My pets who have past have all been around at times. I have always been close to all my pets and that is probably why they continue to visit me. Also, all my pets have human like personalities. Animals always seem to like me. It makes it extra hard to say no to a stray.(-: I got three of my dogs from the pound/haven. They have all been exceptionally wonderful dogs with very unique personalities. It is so sad when one of my pets passes. I have a really hard time letting go. I am looking forward to that "Rainbow Bridge" I can't wait to see all my friends again someday!!!!

I'm with you, Cindee. My idea of heaven is to be with all my kitties and dogs once again. No more stress! Just wonderful furry friends with their unconditional love!

After reading more of these posts, I remembered, after I had my dog put to sleep earlier this year, how I felt she was still around. I'd catch sight of her out of the corner of my eye or swear I felt her against my leg. It was probably her way of saying she was okay because she knew how much I missed her.

I swear my place of employment is haunted or at least some spirits are having fun with me. I am usually the last to leave at night and it is usually me and one or two other people in the building after everyone else goes home. I sometimes hear the vacuum cleaner running after the cleaning people are gone (and everyone else on that side of the building is too) or I swear I hear someone coming along the corridor only to find that no one is there.

Today, I yelled at a co-worker who was pounding on one of the windows to get my attention to let him back in because he forgot something. He scared the bejesus out of me! lol!

Sure, I do. The women on my dad's side of the family have always been a little more receptive than most people. My one aunt was a firm believer. She could read people very well and could often know what they were thinking or feeling to the point of being scary.
If I'm pretty receptive, not too stressed out, etc. I will sometimes have visions about things, mainly I see something in just a flash. Often times someone will then tell me about something happening to them that matches the vision. It drove me nuts for awhile and I've had too much stress in my life in the last few years to be receptive to it happening.

One of the weirdest things I had happen was after my one Doberman suddenly became ill and passed away. The vets couldn't figure out what was even wrong with her and it was a slow and stressfull death for her while they attempted to save her. She died in my arms four days later and I was absolutely devastated. I grieved terribly and felt very guilty.
One day I was puttering around the house picking up, dusting, etc. I had this one curio cabinet sitting near a window that looked out over our back yard where she would stay during the day. As I was working I looked up towards the cabinet and I froze in my tracks! There she was in the reflection of the mirror back in the cabinet. She was standing there looking at me and then walked out of the path of the mirror. It was as if she was telling me she was o.k. now. After that I was able to move past the severe grief I was feeling.
My one sheepdog reminds me she is with me quite often. She used to love to sit outside and raise her face to the breeze in the air and it would blow through her hair. I used to wonder why she liked to do that so much. To this day if I'm outside, a breeze will cross my face and blow my hair just right that it reminds me of her.

The day before my mother passed away in 1984, a painting appeared in the hallway by her room in the hospital. The hospital often let artists hang their artwork in the hospital. The painting was of an old native american man with faint misty images of buffalo surrounding him. The title of the painting was "Happy Hunting Grounds." My dad called me and was upset and telling me about the painting. When I arrived and saw the painting, I knew. I just knew it was a message that my mother was going to leave us even though her prognosis was good and she was doing better. Sure enough, about a day later she passed away.

So yeah, I do feel we get messages from beyond when we are receptive to them and realize they are there.
