Keltic, I don't know what D. Lisa is, but two plants that will survive in semi-shade are: Dracaena Janet Craig and D. Pineapple. Every so often Home Depot sells large Dracaenas.
Oh one other plant is Sanseveria, common name, Mother-in-laws-Tongue or Snake Plant. They're slow-growing, so very little fertilizer, (maybe once a year) is needed. Water when soil is completely dry.

One other thing you can try is, buy an ornamental ladder and place various Bromiliads per step. They'd only need sun when sideshoots are removed, and planted in separate pots..babies need light to grow and flower. Toni

Ficus alii, white bird of paradise if you have room for something that is wide as well as tall, Dracaena massangeana. If you can be very fussy about watering, a ming aralia. If you like palms, try a kentia or rhapis.

D. 'Lisa' is a terrific plant. It does look very similar to 'Janet Craig', but I find that it is less prone to drop the lower leaves or get leaf spots with age. It is also much more expensive, I think because it grows more slowly.

Lady Palm, Rhapis excelsa, would be a pretty compliment to what you already have

Monstera deliciosa won't get tall without something to climb, but they will, nevertheless, get tall if you help them along, and they're good in low light.

Zamioculcas zamiifolia and Sansevieria trifasciata are both very good low-light plants, though they won't keep getting taller and taller: I think in both cases they tend to top out at about three, three-and-a-half feet, and that's only if you get the taller varieties of Sansevieria.

There are a lot of other Dracaena cultivars besides 'Lisa' and corn plant: D. deremensis 'Warneckii' takes basically the same care as 'Lisa'/'Janet Craig' but has white and gray stripes; 'Limelight' is a yellow/chartreuse color in bright light and just a light green with chartreuse new growth in low light; 'Riki' is quickly becoming one of my favorite Dracaenas, and has long, thin, dark-green leaves with yellow-green centers.

I agree with the suggestions of Rhapis excelsa and Ficus binnendijkii, too.

I really like the white bird of paradise and saw some very nice ones this afternoon... Most of what I'm reading is that they need a lot of light though. The room is quite bright, and the entire north and part of the east exposure is lined entirely with windows, but the plant would be 12-13 feet from the windows. Not sure if it would work. I have kept rubber plants and corn plants alive in this spot, but those are probably much more forgiving than the white bird.

I have had really good luck with white birds in low light. The secret is not watering very much. They won't bloom in low light, and they may get a little floppy.

Rhapis is a great idea.
