Beautiful plant. That's just one plant? Have you had to stake it?

Here's one I just got from the 99cent store. Yours started out like this?

Love your plant! Super price too! Not sure I would have the room for this one though. Oh well, maybe someday....

99 cent store is a chain in CA, TX and a few other western states. Obviously, everything is 99 cents. There are a few other chains, Dollar General, Dollar Tree. They have lots of plastic stuff, cheap dishes and towels, knock-offs of major brands, some food items, cleaning supplies. I find the stores depressing but some of the merchandise, like the plants, make it worth the trip.

Dollar Tree doesn't carry plants. I have to drive 50 miles to get to the 99 cent store, and most of the time the plants they have are dried up cactus. I've never seen mosteras there. I need a couple small ones to fill in my pot, mine is looking kind of scraggly.

    YUP! It sure did.

I remember freaking out when it first started having the guttation (water droplets) on the tips, about this time last year.

I didn't get a shot of the aerial roots, but a few months after it started putting out roots from the backs of its 'elbows' the split leaves started. It's about 3" tall at this point. Overall incredibly cool plant.

I was sitting at the computer the other day when I heard a very loud and horrible sounding clatter come out of the bedroom, followed by the cat, who was trying to look casual....The split leaf, which was on a bar stool doubling as a plant stand, was on the floor, dirt and stones everywhere...only 2 of the younger stems were busted, so it could have been worse...I still don't know how it fell.. I'll bet the cat does, but she's not talkin'.

Ha! ines that's the story of my plant life! I have had to gradually under pot everything to keep the cats from laying in the plants squishing them and leaving surprises. Just yesterday I had to repot a rhipsalis back into hanging pots because it got squished. the hanging branches are over 3 feet long! My poor monstera is in an old enamel stock pot because it was the only thing big enough at the time. It does help keep the cats from tipping it over though.

Mine is just starting to produce split leaves - it's really enjoying its summer outside. I have to keep reminding myself to go easy on buying new plants because I have a lot of green pals who will be coming back inside for the winter...
