Junking jackpot...

This past week, I have found some great things!

This is pretty big and can be used several different ways...together or separately.

I can't believe I found all this colored glass! It's gloomy and dark out today, so the colors don't show well.

This piece is awesome, and I'm stunned that no one picked it up before I did! I photographed it from above, so you could see the design. It doesn't show the depth. It's a shallow bowl. I found it at the Salvation Army in Ann Arbor, MI. and wonder if someone originally purchased it at the big art fair they have every summer. Whatever...I love it!

There's more, but this is the best of it. I'm just tickled pink I got these things before someone else did!!

really neat things! I just love the starfish bowl!

Those are great! I have several smaller candle domes (like in your first picture) that I'm going to use as totem toppers with something inside of them. But yours looks huge. It would be pretty strung up in a tree with a candle in it and beads hanging around it. Beautiful glass...I never see that much all in one place!

Sandy, those are beautiful! Too bad I didn't know you were going to be at the SA in Ann Arbor...I would have met you there. I only live about 15 minutes away from there. I never find beautiful glass like that there. Did you go to the Re-use it Center while you were in town? I actually find a lot of stuff there too.

    Micki,
DH and I go up there to the SA every now and then. We live in Sylvania, so it's not very far. A couple of my daughters go up to look for clothes for their kids too. We love the place...it's the best store and so well organized!

We were going to check to see if there was a GW or any other thrift stores up there, but I started getting sick, so we had to head back home. I've been sick ever since with a wicked awful virus!

We should meet at SA some Saturday! What fun!! We could race each other to the good stuff!! LOL

Gosh, it might be worth taking a trip across the pond for stuff like that! I love the green bottle and the purple vase and squiggley bottle. The star shaped bowl is gorgeous too. Lucky girl!

Absolutely amazing finds, Sandy. Some really beautiful glass. No wonder you are so thrilled with that one special bowl. It had your name on it for sure!!! And that big pillar candleholder in the first photo is awesome. That would be staying inside for decoration if I'd found it.

I'm so glad you had this great shopping day, and hope you start getting better fast so you can go BACK!!!

    Sandy,

I hope you are feeling better soon. Then we should meet at the SA. I bet we would have a blast. I could also show you where the Re-Use it Center is. I love it there. I got a couple of really great chairs to use in the garden to decorate up with pots for $5.00 each. I think they are great. That is also where I got the christmas teapot in the teapot totum I posted a while back. I have found some really cool stuff in there. My kids love to go with me and they always find something that they just have to have. My daughter is starting to get things around to get ready to move out and she found a set of 4 Mary Englebreit desert plates with cherries on them for 50 cents each. She has been crazy for cherries and cows forever. Now we are working on building a nice set of dishes to go with them. She loves it because she is like me...prefers that things aren't all matchy matchy. She is a regular junker like her mom!

WOW!!! Amazing colors!! The star one looks like a flower. But they all look rather precious so want to know, how much of it will end up in the garden? For myself, I have a hard time putting colored glass totems together because I enjoy looking at at each piece so much. Unless they're chipped, then no problem at all.

Wowee!!! You DID hit the jackpot! I LOVE, LOVE all of the beautiful colors! And the star shaped bowl it just great! I'll bet you sang a happy tune for the rest of day, didn't you? It's so much fun when you have a great shopping day, isn't it? Great haul!

SPEECHLESS !!!! But I will sing you a song:

LUCKY DOG- LUCKY DOG- YOU'RE A LUCKY DOG!!!!

I'm not sure who wrote it or if it was a Hit but it says it all!!!!!! Susie

P.S. Have ya'll seen the Fairie Doors in the businesses of Ann Arbor?

Sandy, you hit the mother lode of glass!!!! Such brilliant colors and wonderful shapes, bet you were squealing with delight when you found these! The star-shaped one is gorgeous! That first one just hollers cloche to me! Turned upside down over a little African Violet or something dainty. I would add an old crystal doorknob on top for the handle. its all Karen's fault, she has the most beautiful cloches in her albums and I am HOOKED!!! I have wanted to make some ever since I seen them!
Hope you get to feeling better soon, that stuff is going around here too. Get well so you can play with your new pretties!
