How is 12' from a window = to 2' outside the range of direct sunlight? Even 2' from a window (or direct sun) is dark to most plants, but 12'? Can you clarify?

The windows (8 ft tall) take up the entire western wall of the room, so it gets sunburningly bright light for the greater majority of the day. If you sit in the directly lit portions of the room you will get sunburn, the less direct portions are just squintingly bright.

The outlines of the light travel across the floor during the day, but at no point do the outlines come closer than two feet from the spot I'm thinking could work.

The places on the floor that are full sun, like leave an outline, if you stood in the window you would cast a strong shadow against stop about two feet from the wall, past the place the brightest light stops is where I'm thinking a table or shelf might be installed to accommodate the monster.

We had a sunburn incedant last year, when the monster was put too close to a bathroom window, also west facing and it got spots on it that had me thinking we had contracted some kind of leaf spot, but upon closer examination, and moving the plant back a couple feet the leaves stopped doing the banana peel spot thing.
