March POTM - old windows

This is a frame or "horizontal trellis" that I made from some old windows last summer. The photos show the frames to one side of our deck stairs, there's a matching set of frames on the opposite side. I have white ginger lillies planted there, I love the fragance and the night flying moths that they attract in the summer. They do have a natural tendency to droop more than I care for right next to the deck. So I took some old windows that I had stashed, very carefully removed the glass and mounted the frames on pressure treated balusters.I then drilled holes in the ground with a bulb auger and set the frames up.The lillies can grow through the frames and don't droop as much as before. The frames look a little out of place this time of the year but once the lilles grow up and through they hardly show at all. I also like the "plants growing through the window" effect.
