Curling cane on Diff

I have 4 different diffenbachia, and they're all doing the same thing...the canes are curling down the sides of the pots. Big, healthy plants which occasionally bloom.

I've tucked some of the canes back into the pot, where they root and get more shoots. But some are so large that they break off. I can't seem to root the canes in water (they turn to mush), and the cut end just dries up.

How do I trim them to have nice, straight, tall diffs?

Do you keep turning your pots? Diff will "bend" to light, I have to constantly turn mine so it gets even light.

I've only had a problem one time trying to root in water, usually they take right off. The one time I had a stalk turn to mush and rot I think I had it in too much direct sun.

I am having the same problem! I was wondering why they were doing that, but I have been turning my pot every day or two. It is also in a 7 foot window and the plant is less than 2 feet, so I would think that light is getting to it from up above too, not just from the side. Today I cut all of the stalks that were leaning and i am going to root them. Hopefully the main stems that I left in the pot will continue to grow straight.
