Never thought of the idea of using a teapot like that! Very pretty! Thanks for sharing!

I like the way she only used the bowl of the spoon. Wonder how they cut the handles off.

OMG those are so cute! I came across some old silver spoons and forks but passed them up since they were $1 ea. I bet I could go back and get them though. Now to find an old teapot.

This is bad!! and this is so neat at the same time.

I have been a lurker for some time. After checking email, this is my first destination. This site is so great and I've gotten so many ideas.

Right now I am buying and saving glass to begin some totems.

This thread is bad because - I'm finally having that yard sale to get rid of so much of the things I have accumulated over the years that my children don't want and is just something for me to have to work around.

One of those things is a big box of silverplate pieces, trays, compotes, etc, and 4 silverware boxes of silverplate - some of this kinda good - some not.

I was all set to start pricing this when I saw this thread - so now back into the 'I'm gonna' department for these.

These are so great and as soon as this yard sale is over, I'm going to make some.

Thanks everyone for being so generous with the tips, pictures, and ideas.

Those are great, I've seen this site before when I was checking out things to make from spoons :) Here's a few of my silver wind chimes......LadyTexan, I'd hang on to those silver plated trays! Try your hand at mosaics or wind chimes with them.

    Those spoon pendants are lovely!!

    Oh dear, another 'I'm gonna'.

I can't think of what to call it, but are those spoons filled with the plastic stuff that you simply pour?

In the back of one of the upstairs room are a 'few' boxes of old jewelry, and lots and lots of beads I have rescued from old clothing, etc.

Oh, all the silver stuff is going back into the storage building - hopefull I'll sell enough stuff out of it to have room to actually see what I have.

Kudzuqween, those spoon pendants and bracelets are lovely! How did you make them? My grown daughters and I are trying to do a DIY Christmas this year, to save $$. They would make perfect gifts!

Thanks for the compliments, Ya'll :D I make the wind chimes by pounding silver-plated spoons and forks flat. You don't have to flatten them if you don't want to, they still make a beautiful sound. I drill the holes in the handles, and either use a small silver plated coaster or tray and drill holes in that to hang the utensils from, or I use 2 silver plated forks and curl the tines of them, and wire them together, to hang the utensils from the curled tines. I use beading wire and crimping beads to hang them up, and a glass pendant to hang from the center.
Boy, I hope that makes sense, I'm on my first cup of coffee :D
For the spoon bracelets and spoon pendants, I cut them with a small bolt cutter, this is one of my favorite tools...it cuts nice and smooth, that's how they got the spoon bowls cut like that.
I use 2 pair of pliers to bend the spoon handle for bracelets. For spoon bowl pendants, I leave a small piece of the handle to curl under to hang it with, if that isn't possible, I'll drill a hole to attach a jump ring to hang it with. I add little things, pictures, words, beads, dried flowers,glitter....and I use Clear-Cast resin. I buy it at Michaels, and you can use a coupon to buy it. It costs about $20 regular price, and you only need a small amount to fill a lot of spoons or bottle caps.
    I hope this helps!
