This is our 1965 split-level. We love the location and property, but the house needs some help. Previous owner did a superb job on the inside opening up spaces and refinishing original floors. We want to add a garage and some more living space. We're thinking maybe a detached garage with master/in-law suite or office above, joined to the house via a glass mudroom, or an expansion with sloped-down-to-garage driveway and room above that matches the existing roofline? Looking for any and all suggestions! Addition has to be on the left side (in pic) because of septic fields behind the house and edge of property, so would need to add another driveway as well. Struggling with how to best add on while making it work with the half-levels and not looking too obviously like an addition. Also looking for suggestions for an updated entry or porch to help fix the 'box' look. Originally was built as two apartments (one upstairs/ one downstairs)
