Junk store run with projects

15 years ago

I hit my favorite "as is" store the other day and collected 67 pieces of assorted treasures. There was a new girl at the counter and she looked over everything and timidly asked "Would $8 be okay"? Here is the haul

{{gwi:169165}}

The platter, pyrex dishes and deviled egg tray, I will just use. The little bottles I use for seed sharing.The cups and saucers are Noritake, so I need a nice project for them.The chochkes I usually use in planters or maybe on a birdbath.

Here is a totem I made and the frog planter planted.

Thanks for hanging in on my long and rambling post

You hit the jackpot with your "haul". Very nice. Your totem is pretty. I usually make the smaller ones, too. Your frog is very cute. Thank you for sharing.

Wow--67 pieces for $8!!!!
That is your buy of the year. LOL
Love the egg plate-I have several and
I guess you could call it a 'collection'.
The white totem looks GOOD!

The cups & saucers would make votive or tea light candle totems. Glue the saucer to the bottom of the cup, then glue a inverted bud vase under the saucer. Place them on small low poles along a sidewalk, and light the candles at dusk. TADA! Poor-mans solar lights LOL Others have made them the same way and use them as bird feeders. You just have to make sure to clean them regularly.

Wonderful haul! Good chotchkes!

I have bought some dishes to break for mosaic recently that were just too pretty so I'm using them. They are the right shape to stack with my regular dishes.

Wow -- that looks like the china set I selected when we got married (1978)! Is that Noritake "Savannah"? Sorry, you can't have mine; I still use it. Yipes--does that make me feel old! Enjoy your treasures--post pix!!
