Bed Frame Fence

I am sooooo EXCITED! A country thrift store opened up to the north of us! My wife Carol rolled her eyes when I brought home two sets of metal headboards from the thrift store. $5 a set!!!! She changed her mind when she saw the one set after I "planted" them in an area leading into our woods. :o)

Oh, I have to tell you about the bench in the pictures. My late father worked for the railroad and created the bench from wood and metal from a junk pile at work. I guess that's where I got my thriftiness. ENJOY! Bear Hugs! Kirk

The bed set I used... I left it with the original paint:

The other bed set. I still have to decide where to place these and what color to paint them...

what a score on those bedframes. I'm glad you left them their color, so pretty. And the design of them!! I saw some in an antique store the other day for over $100, and yours are better! That is the perfect spot for them too. (love the story of the bench!)

You would never know the planted ones were once bedframes. They look like very pretty fences. Can't wait to see what you do with the other set! And what a lovely rememberance of your father you have. Love the bench too! Keep us posted on what your plans are for the other bed set. Great buy!

Great find. The bench looks great at the entrance to the woods. And the bed frames are a natural.

Very nice! And I love the bench and the story there too.
I kept thinking that fences make good neighbors. I guess this will make good neighbors of the bears, lol.

Great buy!! They look like they belong there & are a reminder to the kids that they would be leaving safety of yard & heading for the woods. Bench is lovely reminder of your dad's hard work & as you say thriftyness. Nice setting!!Jan

ohhhhhhhhhhh! I will kill for those bed frames. I snatch them up whenever I find them. Thoses are awesome! I have two sets that are made into *flower* beds. They have a 2x4 frame and the head and foot boards are attached. Really cute!

Wow, perfect spot for those bedframes! I bet the birds & squirrels will enjoy them! I can just visualize a squirrel playing on the bars or a beautiful bird resting a bit! Leave the bears in the woods, please! Your Dad's bench is awesome! Wonderful inheritance & not stuck away in an attic! Love that you are using it! TFS pics! Jeanne S.

I'm SO envious! I want a headboard trellis...and a bed bench. I had a chance to get a free brass headboard, but my husband gritted his teeth every time I mentioned it. Where I see art he sees junk.

I wish I would run across bargains like these $5 a set bed headboards! What a find! I would love to create a fence of metal headboards and other metal parts along the our property border.

Your father made an incredibly beautiful bench from scrap. It looks better than many professionally manufactured benches. I would never guess by looking that it was not, in fact. That is a treasure of an heirloom.

I love your planted bedframes. They look wonderful with your dad's bench. I love how you set them up. I love the other set too. I would paint them black. But I have been painting a lot of things black or white lately. I can't wait to see what you do with them. You always come up with such great ideas!
