far enough way. I have five acres

You may want to have someone blast them from your neighbors house while you are at home and then determine if 5 acres is far enough...especially at night...in the summer...windows open.

So I guess no one has seen a divice like this?

Slacker,
If you'll stayed tuned I'll find out the name of this alarm kind of solar powered thing my sister has. She says that it flashes lights and sets off some kind of noise. She means to scare the deer.

These devices have been tried and abondoned because they are very annoying. They were tried in the blueberry fields around here adn found to so startle drivers of cars on the roads nearby that near accidents happened, people lost control of their cars when the horns blew, unexpectedly, and the sound carried for quite some distance.

In the Florida strawberry fields, some farmers use a device that combines a compressed air cylinder, a timer and a tube like the ones used on propane weed burners. The device is set up on a timer and at set intervals lets out a blast that is meant to scare the robins mostly.
