Yvette, onl cut the flower spikes once they die back, don't cut the cane. Fertilizer would definitely help.

Really though if they are constantly blooming they are very happy plants. You must be doing something right. Don't worry much about it because it sounds like you have healthy plants on your hands.

When the blooms is done I cut it a few inches down where it is green. Almost always a keki forms. When it has at least 3 good roots I cut lower on the cane about 6 or 8" and strip a few leaves. Now the keki has nourishment and just plunge the balance of the cane into the pot. Much better than a rhizome clip. I grow some semi-trerestial. I buried a wide pot in some wood mulch with an active pot of epi's. Then I keep adding different colors and types of kekis. Just for the fun of it.
