Ugh! Please don´t refer me to a 20 phase follow-up which is mainly about Cattleya. OK so it'a Phal. bellina and .violacea. I'm not exactly winning yet.

off the top of my head I believe leuddemanianna, mariae, and bastianii are. I read about a strain of fragrant aphrodite as well. cornu cervi,fasciata, gigantea, manii, modesta, pantherina, schilleriana, speciosa, stuartiana, sumatrana, tetraspis, venosa, and zebrina. Its all on orchidspecies.com.

Phal Liodoro (or Liodora) comes immediately to mind when thinking of fragrant hybrids. It smells of lemon-cake and usually perfumes the entire room. :)
Phal hieroglyphica does also have a fragrance of it's own(at least some strains). It usually reminds me of lilies. :)
Some Phal amboinensis are also known to smell,and not in the best sense of the word.

I have a Phal wilsonii, and it is very nicely fragrant. Its a cool grower.

Ther are many fragrant Phals. Go to Jay Pfahl's Internet Orchid page, go down to where the Phalaenopsis start, and then look for the blue perfume atomizer bottle icons which mean the species is fragrant. Of course, hybrids made with fragrant species will also be fragrant.

Apologies for referring you to a less than 100% relevant thread :) I only did so because I remembered a topic with the header 'fragrant phals' like 3 weeks ago so I merely posted the link...after reading your comment, I decided to see for sure whether I was just making a blind referal, and it seems that if you read closely there is information to be had. Phal. Kuntrarti Rarashati is lightly fragrant, and Phal. Taisuco Tunelip is moreso. Many hybrids with Phal. violacea and Phal. bellina in their parentage are fragrant, as well.

Hah! From Sydney Yearron, a member of the Victoria Orchid Society; Victoria, B.C. Canada. Yearron lists other fragrant genera, too. The legend follows the list.

These 28 species (not including variations) oughta settle it without even mentioning hybrids. LOL

Thank you for so much excellent feedback. I was surprised to learn there were so many fragrant hybrids, considering the relatively small number of fragrant species. It's enough for me to win my argument, however...
