Denis, an Epicattleya needs more light than a regular Cattleya to bloom. The Epi part being short for Epidendrum which are garden plants in say California.

Giving the plant enough light to get the plant through winter would be the major problem in zone 6a.

How much light? I'll leave that to others to describe.

Most Epicats only bloom once a year. You didn't say how long you have had it or which hybrid it is.
