Kodak Copycat

I was inspired by Sheila's success to submit a picture to Kodak's Picture of the Day. I just heard it will be displayed this month. Sorry, I'm too shy to say what date.

Since everything seems to be under surveillance these days, I wonder if anyone knows of a webcam that has the billboard in it's field of vision, so I can vicariously see it. Too far to go in person.

Wow...that's amazing and congratulations. You must be a wonderful photographer. Can you at least tell us what the subject of your photo is? Here is the link to the live Times Square Cam.When you get there, scroll down and click on Cam 3 and then wait. It will pan to the Kodak sign eventually.I'm going to be there next Wednesday. How cool if that's when your picture will be shown.

How terrific! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you:))

Please don't be shy, please do let us know the date so we can see it on the kodak website at least?

The image on the billboard will appear in the upper right quadrant after an advertisement in that space fades out. It will begin small and spin, growing larger until it fills that quadrant. It only stays maybe thirty seconds then it fades out and your name will appear for about the same of time. The sequence will recycle constantly for twenty four hours. Might be tough to catch it on the web cam but do try.

Since you're not too shy to tell us about your accomplishment I think you might be able to get past this shyness and let us know the date. I might even be able to get someone to photograph it for you, depending on when it is. Will you post in the gallery please? Now!! :)

    Knockout!

How awesome...as I told Sheila, to have a picture selected by Kodak editors who have undoubtedly seen thousands is just terrific! Please do share your photo with us in the Gallery ....josh

I guess I'll just have to go to Kodak.com every day for the rest of the month to see this:)

You overcame your shyness enough to tell us about this, letting us know when it will be on the site seems a small step.

You guys are all really sweet! Everyone who posts here seems great. But lots of people read this and don't post. You might think I'm silly or overly-cautious, but the picture will display my full name and I'm a little uncomfortable about that.

It looks like webcam 3 at that site, does catch the billboard. The angle and timing is just barely good enough to make it worthwhile. I guess Kodak didn't support the project as much as Panasonic--they seem to have gotten a full-on view in the webcam pointed at them!

I don't think you are being silly at all, not even for not wanting to post your photo here. It's just a shame though that you won't be able to see it for yourself when it's up and running. That would be such a high,as Sheila can tell you. I know someone who works in Manhattan and could take a picture for you if she's around that day. Just email me if you'd like me to try and get her or her husband to do it. Once again,Congratualtions. Wish I could take pictures like that.

I didn't think about that reason...sorry for fussing! But you could share with us in the Gallery some of your other photos (grin). josh

I respect your decision, but you do realize don't you that y our full name will be on the billboard and on the website for twenty four hours?

Mine was too and I would just like to set your mind at rest a little bit. There have been no repercussions from my name becoming public - not even one piece of junk mail, spam or anything. No offers to photograph for Vogue or even the National Enquirer:)

I would like to see some of your work though that preserves your privacy.

Yes, but it won't be linked to my secret agent identity here, or in real life. mwahahah! ;-P

I'm actually only a fair photographer and haven't done much lately. I will try to dig up something with something to recommend it to posting here.

I can respect your reason's for not wanting to tell us the day, but can you at least give a hint as to the sugject of the photo so we can all take our guesses if it's your's or not?!?!?!

I can tell you, as many others here can, I have never had problems related to the internet but was just as hesitant as you all those years ago when I first ventured in to this wonderful world of cyber space!
