Cynorkis gibbosa and Cyn guttata are 2 terrestrials from Madagascar for sale by Tropical Orchid Farm ( http://www.tropicalorchidfarm.com/?mg=1&vw=0amp;dp=5&pg=5 ). I bought them 1 month ago and they both are in beautiful bloom. The pictures do not do them justice. I brought one of them (guttata) to our society meeting last night and it was much appreciated. Hardly anyone knew about them. The more attractive gibbosa opened up this morning, typical!

Gibbosa is the orange one which is expensive, both Andy and TOF charge $60 plus for that one. It has very attractive foliage, green salad like leaves with black blotches. Very different. Andy has another one, Cyn fastigiata, for a normal price, I got it from him, it's still small, a couple of month from blooming. I don't know what the flower will look like, on Jay Phal's site, the picture shows a flower which appears to be less attractive than the other 2 but one never knows.

These are new to me but very attractive and I would highly recommend them to someone who wants something different.

I just went on TOF's page and saw that they sold out of the gibbosa. Last week Andy had some. Harry, his brother said that they have only recently become available. I don't know if by recently he means a couple of years or what.
