Was this by any chance offered in a store like Costco? It looks like some sort of bromeliad or cactus (red flower) plus a dendrobium. Can't really tell because I can't see the leaves. There's no way an orchid would want to go 30 days between waterings. I think these kinds of combinations are destined to croak within a couple months. You might be able to rescue the red flowered plant by putting it in its own pot once you've figured out what exactly it is.

I think the orchid is a Phalaenopsis with maybe two flowering stems one of which is dead.
I agree that the other plant is a type of Bromeliad.

Long term you cannot grow the two plants together, they need to be separated and repotted.

Thanks for the help. Is there anything I can do to save the stem that is dying? Part of it is still green. Can I cut off the top so it continues to grow?
