Julie, it appears you have two separate Arandas in the same basket. Whether it was accidental or intentional by the grower to put in two different plants, you get the benefit of both. While they could be two varieties of the same hybrid, one is more likely to be totally different. Which is which, that will take some research.

That's the thing - it's not potted (see photo) and both stems are growing from the same stalk, only 1 leaf between them. I'm not sure if perhaps the original blooms were dyed, but when I run an image search for the name on the tag, the raspberry blooms are what I find, rather than the white.

Apologies - seems my terminology was off in my original post. Both sets of blooms are definitely growing from the same plant.

I have a very large Stanhopea Assidensis. Half of it blooms out as occulata. Obviously 2 seedlings were started in one pot and there was a mix up. Growers often put 2 seedlings in a pot, gets the total leaf mass selling size sooner.

Yours appears to be coming from the same plant, strange.

Could be different lighting - the one that was blooming when you bought it may be the one from the grower, and the one that was developing maybe didn't have the same light level? That is a bit odd.

Interesting thought. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and get their thoughts - when I bought it it was hanging in a shady area of their greenhouse - perhaps it's getting too much sun now - I have it on a screened porch.

Time from open bud until the bloom fully developes changes color. Certain hybrids do that. It's really cool how awesome God
