Here is the link again. The reason it is so long there are 500 other pictures on it. The first 3 lines are of Pleuro collosus I found very few other pictures of this plant so will stay with this.

I'm nervous about this one because Andy has killed 3 of them. They may not have been in good shape when he got them all I can do is hope it's irreplaceable. 5 'tall with dinner plate sized leaves or bigger and u sprays of flowers. Can't wait for that one have wanted one for years.

Thanks for reposting esp the pictures. Here is a picture of the planted Pleuro. 3 adult leaves one new one coming. I put it in a 10" net octagonal basket, lined the sides and bottom with 1/2 thickness coconut husk. This is to keep the bark from falling out. The rootball is in a 6" ball of sphagnum moss. There is a layer of medium sized orchiata bark between the SM and the coconut.

The idea is that the SM keeps the root ball moist all the time but because of the layer of bark is able to drain off excessive moisture so that we never have a soggy mass of SM. Hope it works, it has worked for other large Pleuros. Normally I let a new Pleuro get big in SM only and later on give it the above treatment but since this guy had a sizable root ball to begin with, I elected to go this route from the getgo. Since I water daily or every 2 days I think the layer of bark is helpful.

It came with a new growth. I placed a short wire loop coniciding with the height of the new growth. The new growth had remained the same since I get the plant until the last 3 or 4 days when it started growing. I guess it has evaluated it's new home and decided to stay. Yeah!

Andy's story needs to be modified. His failures came with 3 Pleuro collossus affin plants which were not collosus but similar only even bigger. He thinks the 3 divisions did not have enough roots. In any case he has since gotten a collussus which is thriving for him. He told me that in their natural habitat they are VERY wet and recommended changing it to Sphagnum Moss only and watering as often as possible. I have done this and it seems to be happy.

Whatever I can get hold off, especially if it's free. Tomorrow my youngest daughter's best friend is getting married. Should be lots of opportunity to drink. At my age I'm not expected to dance, one of the benefits of grey hair.
