The name might have changed. This group is being picked on by the taxonomists.

It does not ever fully open...

I love the burgundy lip, it's eye catching.

The Schomburgia genus is now an empty genus. The orchids that typically have ant colonies living in them are now Mymercophia. The rest of the old Schom genus are now considered part of the Laelia family.

My Mymercophia albopurpurea is also in spike and should open within the next two weeks. I've never bloomed this before and am looking forward to the three spikes.
