If you have a tree with eastern exposure it will clamp on. I put one on a palmetto. I've used oak, tangerine, avocado trees also. It would love a cork slab.

Note of caution. Do not use wire on a tree. I t will kill the tree. Use stuff like string, pantie hose. I get this green tape from ace. No adhesive just a stretchy plastic.

What is wrong with a pot? Mine are in plastic basket type pots. I have several different clones and would like to get more but alas they are not readily available here. Various crosses with other Laeliinae tribe orchids are regarded as unkillable.
The only problem with mounting it on a tree is transportation.

This orchid in my part of the world is almost a weed. They are in the landscape as well as supported by people. I'm glad they are here. I own one and it will be blooming soon.

But of all the possible orchids to be plentiful and everywhere it is very plain compared to most orchids. I still like it. But if I was walking around the area and I noticed a brightly colored show on every street.

I guess I'm thinking of Tahiti or Some other exotic place.

They are very robust. They should be, they are home. And most of the time they are spotted attached to a palmetto. Frequently, the color of the plant looks like it is struggling...and also flowering.

I have an Enc.Cordigera for many years and it climbed out of the clay pot its been planted in . It's actually living on the side of the pot.I tried to repot it last year but it was tightly attached so I just left it to do its thing.

I have cork so I'll attach it and see how it does.Thanks!
