Zygos outdoors in Florida

Hello All,

Wondering if any Florida Orchid growers could chime in on this. I am in the Tampa area and have great difficulty with any orchid outside when we have excessive summer rains and suffocating humidity around the clock. So, a few years ago when I added Zygos to my collection and had them outside in a shaded location, after heavy rains for days it started to rot. The nice black spot of death we all dread. I lost them. So, just a few weeks ago I picked up two new ones as I cannot be without that scent. I am now keeping them indoors on a window ledge minus the scorching sun. I am wondering what the successes or failures other Florida orchid growers have experienced with this orchid...especially during the hostile summer months...I don't find too much on the Orchid Boards....thanks in advance...Joe.

P.S. I am also finding bark to be the kiss of death in my area. I am looking for something that is less prone to water retention. Seems everything u get from a grower is swaddled in moss...also the kiss of death in my area if outside. What has worked best for you?
