I see the pond is low, hoping for sufficient rain to fill it and charge the well. Wish there was a way to enlarge it or make it deeper so it would last longer, Nice renga, well done, carries the thought stream and interconnects very smoothly. Reminds me of Simon and Garfunkle's song "April come she will". Some history at the link. There is a beautiful madrigal linked part way down.

Lilo, your August and ours don't have the same melody. Here is no hint of end of summer yet. Found on Saturday the shells of just hatched robbins. They have their nest across the street in the appletree and always deposit their eggshells in our backyard. I like your poem and your pond picture.

We too are a bit different from your well-crafted poem.

June and July provided us with more than 14 inches of rain. We have not been below 70 degrees at night for a long, long time. The weather forecast is for this to continue for several more weeks. Officially, our average temperature shows a high in the upper 70s and a low near 60. That will not happen.

Yes, the days are getting shorter, that seems to be the consensus in the northern hemisphere. If that ever changes, I will get out of here real quick. And the songbirds that went farther north have yet to pass through on their way south again. I have not seen a robin in many weeks, even the pesky red-winged blackbirds have left me. I know that they will return and I know that I will curse them yet again.

Thanks for sharing you efforts. With the skill you have, any attempts that I might make on such writing would take weeks and weeks and still not be as good as yours.
