Under-lit paphs

I'm babysitting a few dozen paphs for a friend. Most haven't had enough light, a problem I think she will soon fix by adding CFL's. Several of the mottled-leaf paphs have grown tall--rather than starting new leaves from the crown area, they have grown a "stem", with each new leaf starting 1" or so above the last one. There are latent roots here and there on the stem.

Is there anything that should be done for these plants, other than give them more light? I assume there's no reason to cut off these taller stems if the plant starts new growth near the crown under better light--right? Should we just leave them and see if perhaps they will flower from those taller growths?
