Sad looking Phal-Denb Orchid

Water it every 7 days or so and fertilize lightly 2 or 3 times a month. I see new growth at the base. Wonder if i should cut off the unsightly part to encourage the new growth? Tried a few times to upload picture but am denied for some reason asking me repeatedly to try again.

Some will flower from old leafless pseudobulbs/canes.
Where are your pics stored? Maybe someone can help.

It is not advisable to cut older canes as the plant stores energy in these. Some cultivars grow slower than others. I find that they do better with more light.
