Possibly. What type of light and temperatures do you have? That will help people give you recommendations.

Hi green curl, The light would be just one window that receives early morning filtered sun, this is in bath room ,which will probably have highest humidity in the house, as far as temps, i would say low of 65 in winter to high 70s in this summer heat wave.i also have an enclosed porch with sun most all afternoon, but with much higher temps.its facing mainly south. thanks so much

Ludisia discolor for your bathroom. Perfect plant for that space.

I would suggest visiting Andy's Orchids web page. On the bottom of the home page there is a section called "Find your favorite orchid." You could put in your bathroom conditions, "Shade, warm, moist" I am not saying that you need to purchase plants from Andy but the site will generate a listing of possible orchids that you could try out.

The Ludisia discolor would absolutely work. There may be other options too. For example 'some' Restrepia would likely work out too.

If you have questions on growing something the strikes you, you can always post about it to see how others are growing it. Happy hunting!

The selection there is quite amazing.

Keep in mind that Andy's deals in species. Since you have precious little experience Andy's is not the first place I would recommend since species are often not as tolerant/flexible in their culture requirements. I'm a big fan of Andy's, have been for a decade, but if you don't know what you are doing it could end...not so well. Anothe place I would point you to is orchids.com. They have a similar function where you can search by various cultural needs. Big difference is that Orchids.com has a larger selection and include hybrids, which will usually be more tolerant of less than perfect conditions. Don't know if I would recommend actually buying from them (many different experiences here with them, both good and bad) but if you find something you like we can recommend a good vendor for it.

Keep in mind too that te humidity in the bathroom is only short lived. After an hour or two it will dissipate to the rest of the house. High humidity plants ultimately will not do well if you are relying solely on the bathroom humidity to do the trick.
